Point Dume dive pinnacles
Looking almost straight down on the reef in front of Point Dume. The offshore pinnacles is a favorite dive site of mine. It's surrounded by an expansive reef. Dolphins and grey whales swim right by this point, paralleling the beach just a fewdozen yards offshore. There's a submarine canyon out beyond the pinnacles that drops to about 120 feet deep here and down to 1000 feet deep just a mile to the right as it juts out into the open bay. Point Dume is now a Marine Protected Zone. No wildlife can be taken here.E-5 and 14-35 mm lens at 14 mm, ISO 200, f/8, 1/125 sec.
